Google India announces Engineering awards for women

The "Women in Engineering" award is the first of its kind given by Google India, a part of search engine giant Google Inc. The aim of this award is to inspire women to become
active participants and leaders in creating technology. 16 women were chosen for the 2008 award from a pool of undergraduate,
graduate and doctoral students. Each was awarded a cash prize of Rs 75,000 (approx. USD $2,000).
