After having used Java EE container managed authentication and even having homegrown JSF based authentication for a good amount of years and getting a bit tired of it, I wanted to review how well the current 3rd party Java EE authentication frameworks integrate in Java EE 6 with JSF 2, CDI and EJB 3. Apache Shiro (formerly known as JSecurity) is one of them.
