I have created a Ruby code that gathers information from IMDB and presents it in a nice class. The code uses why's hpricot v0.4.76.
Creating an object. The HTML is only loaded once as long as you have the object.
"IMDB has no published API. I have found no other sites providing a good API. So I made one."
IMDB has no published API because they don't want to provide it. Other sites don't provide it because IMDB doesn't want them to provide it. It's right there, on their "use plicy" page or something.
They also explicitly prohibit page scraping and everything else the author does.

yes, I totaly agree with 'jsn'. But it's a good example about Hpricot...
