After several weeks of using SoyLatte for my own development, and the testing of an exceptional group of early adopters, it's time to issue a 1.0 release. This release provides: A stable JVM, usable for real-world development, The benefits of Java 6 performance enhancements, X11 Swing (Nothing is perfect!)

LOL - all of us who build DZone do! We mostly use Macs for our development, and being able to test locally with the same JDK revision level (1.6.0_03) we use on our servers is a great help. I'm really glad SoyLatte is an option, since Apple hasn't seen fit to provide a current and compatible Java implementation.

fair enough. one thing I have to say re mac developers are those pesky hidden files and folders that get shipped about when handling files. whats up with that? I dont send around my hidden svn files, I should expect the same from a supposed better OS.
