Interesting news indeed. Rod Johnson is widely known for his (very successful) battle against Sun, J2EE and especially EJB2 (ignoring Java EE and EJB3). Typesafe is recently known for its battle against Java (see e.g. http://jaxenter.com/14m-capital-funding-scala-is-ready-to-take-on-java-44129.html). So the combination of Rod and Typesafe is interesting to say the least, and one can only wonder what the underlying strategy is going to be.
i have been asking tens of people for years "what is SPRING ?", but never got any proper response till date, that shows what is gona happen to Scala now, thus we will have Just more BAFOONS in the world. Time to move one and discard my scala plans, so now i wonder What is the next big thing in programming world. and i wont be shocked if all my enter keys will be eaten up by DZONE from this comment, i dont mind since its just a matter of time, just a dark phase form medieval era of centralized computing.
