2015 Christmas Lectures Part 3 – Robots, Cyborgs, and Ghosts

This Christmas season the general theme of the lectures I’ll be looking at is that of automation. For the final lecture in this Christmas series, I thought I’d go back to the early days of robotics at the Royal Institute for inspiration.

For the final lecture in this Christmas series, I thought I’d go back to the early days of robotics at the Royal Institute for inspiration.

Back in 2000 Professor Kevin Warwick delivered the Christmas Lecture.  He is a pioneer in the robotics world having implanted a silicon chip into his nervous system nearly 20 years ago.

Image titleIn the following clip, Professor Warwick talks to the University of Staffordshire about the current state of cybernetics and where the field might be heading.

I hope you enjoy the clip and have found all of the lectures useful this Christmas.

See how CEP engines, stream processing engines, flow based programming engines and other popular rule-based technologies perform against seven IoT-specific criteria.
