Continuing a series of articles focusing on NetBeans users and their five favorite NetBeans IDE features, here's the next part, by Sophia Matarazzo. -- NetBeans team.

I am a Java developer at IDRSolutions in the UK focusing mainly on the development of our JavaFX PDF Viewer. My other focus is on the marketing side of the company, working closely alongside the company's marketing guru.

What are your 5 favorite NetBeans IDE features?

1. Version control shortcut buttons on the tool bar. NetBeans offers the ability to be able to add version control features straight to the tool bar. This increases the user's work flow and productivity because they have easy access to specific Mercurial or Git features.

2. NetBeans shortcuts. NetBeans offers support of not only its own quick keyboard shortcuts, but also quick keyboard shortcuts from other IDEs.

NetBeans also offers different profiles, so you can choose where you would like to import your quick shortcut keys. You can even have your own profile of the quick shortcut keys that you find easiest to use.

3. Auto complete. NetBeans has an auto complete feature, which not only makes writing repetitive code less monotonous but also makes writing code quicker for the user. This once again increases productivity and the user's work flow.

4. NetBeans free profiler. NetBeans offers a free profiler. The profiler has a user-friendly and easy to use interface. This can provide the user with important information of the runtime behavior of their application.

5. Code formatting. NetBeans offers a code formatting feature, this works in whatever language that I am coding in.

This is a brilliant feature of NetBeans, it always keep my code consistently tidy!
