Seven cities, dozens of stories and one central message: BIRT is best for building winning customer experiences.
That’s the theme at this year’s Data Driven Summit 2014. The worldwide event series, formerly known as Actuate’s annual customer day, kicks off in the heart of Silicon Valley on Thursday, November 6.
The show is free to attend and designed especially for planners and builders of business analytics applications. We will present trends, but stress outcomes, what is possible today, and provide demonstrations and examples. Expected to attend the event are several customers ready to discuss how they use BIRT in their customer-facing applications, data visualizations or scalable reports.
Among the panelists will be representatives from The New York City Transit Authority (NYCT) which uses BIRT iHub to monitor up to 5,000 buses every 30 seconds, 24 hours a day.
Also speaking at the Data Driven Summit will be industry analysts Shaku Atre (@ShakuAtre) and Esteban Kolsky (@ekolsky) who will discuss the importance of embedded visualization in applications that can incessantly feed off of billions of lines of data.
If you are questioning the importance of data driven applications, consider the following:
- Data driven customer applications have become major growth engines for the worldwide software market. Forrester Research predicts that smart computing software will become a $48 billion market this year.
- IDC has proclaimed that 2014 will be the year of data driven marketing and sales. Despite the fact that we are becoming increasingly surrounded by data driven devices, designing compelling data driven experiences – especially for customer facing applications made for both large amounts of data and of users – remains a challenge.
Each event also gives attendees an opportunity to gain valuable insight about embedded analytics.
In the Visualize sessions, attendees will learn how to plan their next big app to incorporate Big Data for visuals, interactivity and mobility. They will also get the scoop on embedded apps and trends as well as explore market drivers and trends such as Big vs. Small Data.
In the Build track, attendees will get up to speed on tech drivers and our new BIRT architecture. We’ll also cover design imports/exports, interact functionality, dynamic dashboards, integration and mobile deployment.
From the event series launch in Santa Clara, Calif. on November 6 (register), the Actuate team will then sail westward to Singapore on November 11 (register), fly to Tokyo on November 13 (register), hop over to Paris on November 18 (register), skip across the Channel over to London on November 19 (register), crisscross back to Frankfurt on November 20 (register) and finish in New York December 3 (register).
If you only go to one series of talks about data driven applications, then Data Driven Summit is the show you will want to attend.
