AdroitLogic Private Ltd. announced the general availability of the UltraESB v1.4.0. The new release adds clustering support based on Apache ZooKeeper - the same clustering technology used to manage large computing clusters running Hadoop. Coupled with a new web based administration console, the UltraESB now simplifies the management and monitoring aspects of the UltraESB. A round-robin restart of a complete cluster is now possible with one click, and guarantees that each node will gracefully shutdown - one at a time, without causing message losses. Support for caching across a cluster is a new feature, and is facilitated by ehCache.
The new release also introduces XACML support based on the PicketBox XACML, and high performance XPath support using FastXML libraries. This allows the UltraESB to be extended with libraries such as VTD XML which can perform XPath evaluation for content based routing, without typical XML parsing. The new version also adds automatic JSON to XML conversion support, improving the JSON support and support for JSON based data services introduced previously.
The ability to make changes to a runtime instance, including a full restart or partial updates is also made available. The UltraESB facilitates monitoring via external JMX management consoles such as the open source Zabbix server, and thus ships with a native Zabbix agent.
