Quantcast, a company that measures and reports on a variety of markets, has released the mobile web numbers for the top mobile operating systems. Android, as usual, is climbing steadily at the expense of the other big guns in the industry (iOS, RIM, etc...) and the climb will probably keep going steady if some of the recent new hardware leaks come to fruition. From July to August of this year alone, Androids market share jumped by 2%, with a total of a 5.5% gain in the quarter. This brings the total percentage of the mobile market owned by Googles Android to a cool 25%. Apples OS is still in the lead at 56%, but the steadily dropping market share is a clue to a possible change in leadership sometime in the not so distant future.

The best part of all this? It's because of YOU! The Android community! So bask in the glory of your accomplishments and let's show the world that Android is where it's at.

Analysts agree that a mix of emulators/simulators and real devices are necessary to optimize your mobile app testing - learn more in this white paper, brought to you in partnership with Sauce Labs.
