Last week at EclipseCon North America, Tasktop, creators of Eclipse Mylyn, announced the release of Sync Studio, a comprehensive visual ALM mapping and monitoring tool. From the official release announcement:
In the forthcoming release of Tasktop Sync, we have formalized the lessons learned over the past year with a new authoring tool called Sync Studio. Our expertise is now captured in visual tools for cross-ALM system task and workflow mapping, ALM architecture design, monitoring tools to ease integration maintenance and alert notifications for project and system administrators.
The tool displays pretty much every part of every ALM workflow in a single, glanceable, thousand-mile-high interface:
Because ALM terminology hasn't been completely standardized, a crucial feature of SyncStudio is the new attribute mapping functionality. Here's a sample mapping of HP QC to IBM RTC attributes:
Here's the official summary of its functionality:
- Unified, live architectural view of processes
- Automated mapping capabilities
- Cross-repository health/performance maintenance
- Complete ALM traceability across the lifecycle
