Basho announced yesterday that the Technical Preview of Riak 2.0 is now available. RICON West is currently under way in San Francisco (yesterday and today) and more Riak 2.0 updates are likely forthcoming, but many changes have already been announced. Notable examples include:
- The addition of sets and maps as distributed data types
- Overhauled search that leverages the Apache Solr engine
- Configuration management simplified by changing how and where configuration info is stored
Keep in mind that this news from Basho is the Technical Preview, not the actual release, so there is still testing to do and some things could still change, but still, this is a detailed look at the upcoming Riak 2.0.
