Ever wanted a smartphone that could fit on your wrist? If you're in the market for just such a device, you're in luck. Not only is the Apple "iWatch" rumored to be gearing up for production (presumably running iOS 7), but recently Samsung's Executive Vice President of Mobile, Lee Young-hee recently revealed that Samsung will be revealing a new concept smartwatch at this year's IFA consumer electronics fair in Berlin.

Not a lot has been revealed yet about Samsung's new smartwatch. In her announcement, Lee revealed that the Samsung smartwatch concept will be called the "Galaxy Gear," and will have a non-flexible display.

The mention of a non-flexible display is perhaps in reference to a trademark filed by Samsung earlier this month for a Galaxy Gear watch with a flexible display. Presumably Samsung wants to get into the market with a non-flexible display while they work on the flexible screen technology.

Stay tuned. Apple and Samsung's rivalry is sure to heat up over this new market of smartwatches.
