CAS (http://cas.tecgraf.puc-rio.br) is a framework that supports heterogeneous media capture and structured document generation. It is a generic C&A system to be used in a variety of scenarios, such as the following:

  • workplace -- professional meetings and teleconferences)
  • educational -- classes, seminars, operating rooms, general presentations
  • personal -- experiences recording and health records to assist diagnosis
CAS supports the capture of camera, screen, audio, slides, and annotations.

After an experience capture, the user performs some steps in order to generate a synchronized document. The generated document allows the user to navigate using classic timeline paradigms. Also, it is possible to navigate through a structured vision of the multimedia document.

We use the NetBeans Platform for our capture and post-production phases. And, for the access phase, we use players in HTML5 and NCL.

This project is a partnership between the Tecgraf/Puc-Rio Institute and Petrobras.
