Change itself is changing: Must reads

The pace of change has increased, competition has intensified, and business models are being disrupted. Yet, the way we manage change hasn’t fundamentally changed for 20 years.

New ideas emerging suggest the future of change will be digitally enabled, employee-led, process light and adaptable to changing needs.

And most of all, experimental. We are all learning.

So here are some great reads I have found helpful which I hope will help you in your learning too.

McKinsey: What successful transformations share

Some great research that demonstrates the power of co-creation and collaboration

NHS whitepaper: The new era of thinking and practice in change and transformation

A great summary of emerging ideas from outside the field of change management which will have monumental implications of how organisations change in the future.

Kotter: Accelerate

Acknowledgement that the olds methods do not work in an environment of constant change, and the need to mobilise a network of ‘volunteers’ across the organisation to shape and deliver change

McKinsey: Build a change platform, not a change programme

Rethinking how we enable change, free the shackles of project management, to achieve true transformation

IBM: Making change work… while the work keeps changing

Some interesting research which, when compared to their paper from 2008, shows the imperative for thinking differently with some interesting ideas on how.

Happy reading!
