Hello to our current and potential contributors!

Today we are excited to announce our newest Zone, the Writers' Zone. Our contributors are our most valuable resource - without them, there would be no DZone. Now we've created a home specifically for contributor-related content, such as writing guidelines and tips, contributor contest announcements, resources, editing suggestions, and more.

Why Did We Create This Zone?

Our decision to launch this Zone comes from an unprecedented growth in active and new contributors on DZone. More and more potential writers have been asking us for information about submitting their work to DZone and about our contributor programs. We've also had requests from long-time contributors for more writing prompts and tips for success.

We hope this new Zone will provide our contributors with a place to hone their writing skills and find inspiration for their content.

What Will the Writers' Zone Cover?

Broadly, the Zone will cover topics related to writing for DZone.  This includes all forms of contribution, from blog syndication through the MVB program to one-off Guide article authorship. We'll also announce any current and upcoming contributor contests in the Writers' Zone, and share info on paid writing opportunities.

Some of our favorite posts currently live in the new Zone are:

Our overall goal is to make the Writers' Zone a "one stop shop" for everything related to writing on DZone. We encourage our current contributors to submit their advice and experiences on writing for a tech audience to the new Zone!

What’s Next?

We will rely on feedback from the community to determine what content is most relevant, so if you have anything you would like covered, you can say so in the comments, via email at editors@dzone.com, or even by sharing your own insights on writing for DZone by authoring an article.
