Navigating today's database scaling options can be a nightmare. Explore the compromises involved in both traditional and new architectures.

If you have a collection of timestamped data, the open source tool, Cube, can derive metrics from that data.  It's built on MongoDB and works with a JavaScript library called Cubism for data visualization.

Cube’s collector receives events and saves them to MongoDB. You can send events via UDP, HTTP POST, or WebSockets. Cube has built-in support for receiving events from collectd.
