WP7 Cut and Paste Coming Soon
Steve Ballmer's CES keynote mentioned that the one glaring feature that Windows Phone 7 needs (cut and paste) will soon be here. The update that brings this change will also improve application loading times. Users will also experience the key advantage of WP7 when the update comes: even though there are many different handsets that run the software, you won't have to wait for each OEM to provide the update. It will come to all handsets at once.
Xoom Tablet Unveiled at CES
More news out of CES today. Motorola has just unveiled its Verizon-powered Xoom tablet, which will be the first to run Android Honeycomb. The Xoom tablet has a front and rear camera, 1GB of RAM, an HDMI port, and Flash support. Xoom also has a unique array of sensors: a gyroscope, built-in magnetic compass, accelerometer, adaptive lighting, and a barometer (for weather apps maybe?).
Lift 2.2 Gets Friendly with HTML5
The Scala-built web framework, Lift, has just reached version 2.2. This version updates its support to Scala 2.8.1. It also adds support for rendering HTML5 to the browser, parsing HTML5 input files, and migratory sessions.
