Developers can now take the Adobe AIR 2.7 for a test drive!  Currently, the beta is only available for desktops.  Acoustic Echo Cancellation allows the user to create collaborative/chat apps with high-quality sound, and the Media Measurement feature enables companies to track how their videos are distributed.  A final version of Adobe AIR is expected by the second quarter of 2011.

Lizamoon SQL Injection Attack Infects 1.5 Million Sites

In the past few days, over a million sites have been infected in one of the largest sustained SQL injection attacks to date.  Links produced by the automated attack lead to domains laced with scareware.  Because many of the URLs link back to lizamoon.com, the attack has been named the "lizamoon" attack.  Server administrators are advised to check their websites for JavaScript tags including the lizamoon.com URL.

Seam 3.0 Final

The final release of Seam 3.0 is available for download.  New to this edition of Seam is the inclusion of the Catch model.  This means that Seam 3.0 is based on the standardized CDI defined component model. Another module of note is the JAX-RS integration-providing REST module.

Release of XWiki Enterprise 3.0

The XWiki project development platform has a new look.  With the update from version 2.7 to version 3.0, developers can use the platform to create wiki-style applications with short message features (a la Twitter), a new WYSIWYG editor, and an enhanced Administration user interface (UI).  Thanks to the addition of the FileSystem storage feature, uers can upload large attached files without using up memory or database storage.  You can download the new SWiki Enterprise development platform here.
