I look forward to attending StreamSets’ first annual DataOps Summit 2019 at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District, on September third to the fifth.

DataOps Summit 2019

DataOps has been created to handle the tsunami of data from an ever-increasing number of sources and endpoints – especially IoT devices.

The pre-conference has a full-day of data operations training and hands-on labs with the StreamSets data platform. Keynotes from StreamSets executives and clients take place on Tuesday morning. Three different learning tracks will address data engineering, DataOps use cases and best practices, and data architecture. These breakouts will take place on Tuesday afternoon and all-day Wednesday.

Speakers from Ericsson, GlaxoSmithKline, Humana, IBM, IQVIA, Shell, Slack, Uber, and many others, are scheduled to speak and share how they have instituted a DataOps practice and culture to manage and gather insights from the massive influx of data.

An impressive lineup of keynote presenters includes:

  • Anne-Britton Arnett, V.P. of Information Management & Analytics, Humana.

  • Theodore Bergqvist, Head of Data & Analytics, Ericsson.

  • Daniel Jeavons, General Manager Data Science, Shell.

  • Phani Konduru, Chief Enterprise Architect, Humana.

  • Mark Ramsey, PhD., former R&D Chief Data & Analytics Officer Advisor, GSK.

  • Josh Willis, Software Engineer for Search, Learning, and Intelligence, Slack.

I’ve spoken with Girish Pancha, CEO, StreamSets several times for DZone.com’s data and analytics research guides and technical reports. I look forward to getting his, and his team’s, perspective on how the data and analytics landscape is changing and learn where they see it going. I’ll share what I learn in a subsequent article.

Let me know if there are some specific questions you have, and I can see if I can find the answers while I’m at the conference meeting with executives, customers, and developers.
