Every week, we feature a new developer/blogger from the  DZone community here and in our newsletter, catching up to find out what they're working on now and what's coming next. This week we're talking to Javyer DerDerian, Python programmer, Django enthusiast, and developer at AnswerHub. Javyer covered the 2012 PyCarolinas conference for DZone, which you can read about here:

PyCarolinas 2012: One Python for All the Carolinas

Thanks for talking to us! What have you been working on lately?

I've been working on AnswerHub--using Java and Spring--extending the system with new content types, and also working a lot with Bootstrap to integrate it into our AnswerHub themes.

I'm also getting to work a lot with Amazon tools and their API, creating tools to handle our servers, deployments, and updates.

I've also been playing with the Mozilla Persona authentication system, integrating it with our tools. Great tool to have a secure authentication.

What are your favorite web development tools and frameworks?

I love Django and Python. Django is a great framework for web development, and Python is a lovely language for any kind of development. I've been working with Django for about 6 years now, and it's getting better with each release.

jQuery has changed--for the better--how we do client-side development; anybody who was working with JavaScript before knows it!

And Sublime Text is one of the best editors I've ever used.

Are there any particular developer tools or resources you couldn't live without?

May sound like an easy answer, but without Google I don't know what I'd do day-to-day... and Google most of the time connects me to StackOverflow too.

The Chrome developer tools are great, and help my day-to-day development in a great way.

Do you have a favorite open source project (or projects) that you've contributed to recently?

OSQA.net, I love it and luckily I have been able to contribute code to it!

Do you follow any blogs or Twitter feeds that you would recommend to developers?

Hacker News

Did you have a coding first love -- a particular program, gadget, game, or language that set you on the path to life as a developer?

Not really... I started coding in Visual Basic. So when I learned more about development I ran away from there as fast as I could!

Thanks, Javyer!
