Oh my fucking GOD!
Yes, grasshopper! You now see it: you have only begun to discover the amount of work that lays ahead. You've barely scratched the surface as to the tools, methods, and skills necessary to manage and operate even the simplest of production sites. Your work is cut out for you. --Randall Degges
Degges goes on to encourage more leadership from Jacob Kaplan-Moss, one of the Django creators and a DevOps advocate. Overall, Degges believes that the Django community needs a firm, opinionated set of best practices for deploying Django in order to help the framework become what it should be. Developers will need to learn a little IT along the way for sure. A great read for Django users or anybody who doesn't think that 'Devs' need to learn more 'Ops.'
