Google Founders to Cede Control of the Company  
Sergey Brin and Larry Page have recently made an SEC filing for their intentions to sell a large portion of their Google stocks.  The Google founders will sell 5 million shares each, but they'll still own 15% of the outstanding shares.  However, this will drop their voting power below 50%, so they are ceding their leading role in the company.

Bill Gates Joins Twitter; Gets 150k Followers Overnight

Twitter went down last week and the likely culprit may have been one man.  Bill Gates issued his first tweet at 8pm GMT: "Hello World. Hard at work on my foundation letter - publishing on 1/25."  By 9am in the morning, Gates had accumulated over 150,000 followers.  CERN, Bing, and the Queen of Jordan are some of the accounts that Gates is following.

Chrome OS Media Player
A lead engineer for the Chrome operating system recently told Ars Technica that the OS would have it's own media player along the same lines as Windows.  The engineer said this would be helpful when, for example, you have a USB key with mp3s, but you don't have any controlling web page to play them.  Applications like the media player will be helpful on the web app-based Chrome OS.  

Selenium Special Sauce
The popular Selenium project, which allows cross-browser testing, recently got a commercial backer in Sauce Labs.  Sauce Labs has now revealed their Sauce IDE as a commercial version of Selenium IDE with expanded testing features.  Sauce's version allows automated application testing with Sauce's cloud services.  This removes the restriction of using Selenium's IDE solely as a Firefox plugin.  Sauce Labs says it will continue to contribute to the open source version of Selenium.
