The Sun SPARC Enterprise M9000 set a world record with 32,000 users on the SAP 2-tier SD Benchmark on the current SAP EP4 for SAP ERP 6.0 (Unicode). The SAP Standard Application SD Benchmark is indicative of full business workloads of complete order processing and invoice processing. It demonstrates the ability to run both the application and database software on a single system. The Apache Tuscany team says it has been experimenting with the Android platform to build mobile SOA applications. They already have some samples of Android apps consuming SCA services on the cloud. The first is "Store-android", which allows you to shop for fruits and vegetables, and the second is SCATour-android, which allows you to search for trips directly from your Android phone.
Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), the world's largest telecom company, recently announced a new partnership with OpSource to hasten enterprise public cloud adoption. The American branch of NTT will provide its secure data centers and Tier 1 global IP network as the basis for OpSource's Cloud. The announcement comes on the same day that AT&T announced its Amazon-like IaaS. Let the cloud games begin!
