Sun Microsystems' stock value shot up today after months of decline.  The reason behind the 10% jump was a statement of commitments recently posted by Oracle.  In a nutshell, the statement says that Oracle will maintain MySQL and keep its APIs public upon acquisition.  The EU responded warmly to this statement with a press release voicing their optimism that the differences with Oracle can be settled.  Investors are now looking kindly upon Sun with the possibility of EU clearance very soon in the Oracle acquisition.
