As Expected, Microsoft Announces New Releases for Silverlight and WP7S
At the MIX 2010 Microsoft developer conference, the company will be announcing an analytics framework for Silverlight applications. The Silverlight Analytics Framework will collect data about the way users interact with a Silverlight application. The framework will also allow developers to instrument their applications in a non-cumbersome way, and Microsoft evangelist Michael Scherotter will demonstrate this at MIX. PyPy 1.2 Gets JIT Compiler
Version 1.2 of PyPy has just been released. The new Python runtime environment is the first version to feature Just-in-Time (JIT) compiling. The PyPy developers are still treating this release as beta software since it only supports 32bit x86 platforms and has a large memory footprint. However, the developers also say that the JIT is now stable and even faster than CPython and Unladen Swallow. Also announced was the PyPy.org website, which monitors nightly performance and new Ubuntu packages.
Tasktop's V1: Agile Enterprise Connector is Finished
The creators of Eclipse's Mylyn project, Tasktop Technologies, announced the completed Mylyn connector for VersionOne's Agile development platform. Like other Mylyn connectors, the new integration will provide a direct pipeline to VersionOne's software via Mylyn and the Eclipse IDE. Users of the Tasktop Pro enterprise version of Mylyn also now have access to the connector.
