A US federal appeals court ruled in favor of Comcast this week in the ISP's net neutrality battle with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) which has been going on since 2007.  In an attempt to stop Comcast from blocking p2p file-sharing sites, the FCC enforced their net neutrality tenet, which said that ISPs are obligated to serve up any type of content from various sources using various delivery methods without discrimination.  The court's decision, however, says that the FCC does not have the power to enforce net neutrality.  Although the legality of net neutrality was not under review, this decision could limit the FCC's attempts to convert itself into an internet regulatory agency and enact other plans such as the national broadband network, and broadband speed standards.
