IE9 Delivers Second Preview as Promised
Microsoft released another preview of IE9 - this time with a new ACID 3 score of 68 out of 100. Microsoft says that they've gotten a 117 millisecond speed improvement, according to the SunSpider benchmark. The company has now submitted a total of 183 standards compliance tests to the W3C. In this release developers can now experiment with sending different user agent strings to sites with every request. One Microsoft evangelist said that he wanted IE9 to include the HTML5 Canvas tag, but it won't.

According to the SunSpider benchmark, the newly released Chrome 5 beta is the fastest browser once again with a 35% performance boost. The beta comes with new features like preference sync and support for HTML5's geolocation APIs, App Cache, Web sockets, and file drag-and-drop capabilities. This version also comes with the Flash client already integrated, including automatic updating.
