When the Galaxy S4 by Samsung shipped with a "Smart Pause" feature that automatically stopped video playback when you looked away from the screen, the feature generated some buzz but was also  called a gimmick.

Now, iOS developer Chris Simpson has developed an app that replicates the S4's Smart Pause functionality for jailbroken iPhones and iPads.

This app is called FaceHalt and you can see it at work in this video clip:
