The system integrator is exploring three specific focus areas:
- Information Hub Attribute Based Access Control
- Enhance mission situational awareness and improve information transfer efficiency
- Deliver High Quality Solutions on Faster Spirals
Project Idea A: Information Hub Attribute Based Access Control
To support program #1, prove system integrator can improve security assurance, efficiently provide information access, normalize information models, and reduce integration effort. Augment any existing solution by adding contextual based access controls, governance, and SOA best practices that establish secure, contextual access to information through a common information model and common information services.
The proposed platform would likely include WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus, WSO2 Governance Registry, WSO2 Data Services Server, and WSO2 Identity Server. The proof of concept may be broken out into two distinct and independent phases.
Project A – Proposed Proof of Concept (POC) Phases
Phase 1 – Establish a Common Information Model, Service Registry of Mission Capabilities, and Connectors
Augment the existing solution by including design and run-time service governance, declarative data mapping, declarative interface design (REST and SOAP), and declarative transformation to support efficiently building a common information model and standard service/API interfaces.
This phase would leverage WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), WSO2 Data Services Server, and WSO2 Governance Registry capabilities.
Phase 2 – Increase security assurance by adopting contextual based access controls
To securely integrate data feeds across agencies, programs, projects, and missions, solutions must adopt contextual based access control. Contextual based access control authorizes information access by validating requestor attributes (e.g. location, need to know, organization, clearance) and resource attributes (e.g. level of assurance, resource information model). Contextual based access control merges Role Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) best practices and policies.
This phase would leverage WSO2 Identity Server and XACML 3.0 Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) functionality.
Project Idea B – Enhance mission situational awareness and improve information transfer efficiency
To support program #2, prove system integrator can improve mission visibility, enhance situational awareness, and increase information transfer efficiency by adopting WSO2 streaming messaging, transformation, temporal pattern matching event engine, and Big data analytics.
The proposed platform would likely include WSO2 Complex Event Processor, WSO2 Business Activity Monitor, WSO2 Governance Registry, and WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus. The proof of concept may be broken out into two distinct, independent phases:
Project B – Proposed Proof of Concept (POC) Phases
Phase 1 – Filter, Reduce, and Aggregate Data Streams
To provide a relevant and composite view of mission information, the solution will filter, reduce, and aggregate data streams. By reading declarative policies and configurations in a central registry, the solution will apply enterprise integration mediation patterns to the data feeds.
This phase would leverage WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus and WSO2 Governance Registry.
Phase 2 – Capture and Analyze Data Streams
Improve mission visibility and enhance situational awareness by expanding mission event capture, executing analytical queries across Big data streams, and integrating information feeds into mission command and control dashboards.
This phase would leverage WSO2 Business Activity Monitor and WSO2 Complex Event Server. WSO2 Business Activity Monitor enables high speed streaming data capture, data storage, and advanced Big Data analytics. WSO2 Complex Event processor provides real-time streaming temporal based analytic capabilities that enable real-time notification and real-time control.
Project Idea C: Deliver High Quality Solutions on Faster Spirals
To support program #3, prove system integrator can improve time to market, lower development cost, and increase quality by adopting DevOps principles, best practices, and Cloud environments. The proposed platform would likely include Apache Stratos, WSO2 Private PaaS, and WSO2 App Factory.
