Fujitsu Announces "CSaaP" for Big Data

Join For FreeFujitsu, the word's third-largest IT services provider, recently announced the it will offer Data Utilization Platform Services, using cloud services to leverage big data.

The services being introduced today are merely the start of something much bigger, according to Fujitsu,
Future plans include the integration of a Data Exchange Service, making it possible to safely merge information from multiple customers when needed, and an Information Application Support Service, which will utilize service mashup technology to provide the required web services. Also in the works is a set of Data Curation Services, which use "a variety of specialized analytics tools, including mathematical or statistical data modeling, multivariate analysis, and machine learning" to generate new sources of value. Currently available on an ad-hoc basis, these services will be combined into packages by April 2012.

By collecting, storing, and analyzing massive amounts of data and integrating it with knowledge in a feedback loop to society, Fujitsu aims to generate new sources of value and contribute to resolving the increasingly complex issues facing society, such as lowering healthcare costs, using energy more efficiently, and reducing traffic congestion.
