A neat interview with Greg DeMichillie, who manages Google Cloud Platform products, revealed some interesting tidbits about the AWS competitor that includes services like Google App Engine, Google Cloud Datastore and Google Compute Cloud.

If you take a look you'll see why Google can't run on Go Daddy, why Google spends a lot on infrastructure, and why services like Google Compute engine are just external versions of internal resources, meaning that they may not stick around forever, but they will reflect what is in vogue at Google.
