Organizations that operate worldwide require new solutions to avert threats. Cloud computing service providers offer you that option when in-house systems fail to deliver.
Here are some instances.
It is a fact that cloud supply chain solutions, which are networked, possess the capability to link companies with thousands of distributors and other business associates round the clock.
Networks of these distributors are knotty since they are dependent on various issues that are at a risk of going awry.
When traditional enterprise resource planning (ERP) packages were created, they were designed such that they could make it possible for all departments within an organization to collaborate. But all these departments were incapable of handling business procedures that impact distributors and resellers. On the other hand, cloud service providers are capable of providing organizations with more choices in supply chain and risk prevention measures.
Companies abide by quality procedures when supplying a solution to potential resellers in order to bag a contract. In the process, they, however, outsource a portion of their responsibility to them. This could lead to quality issues, which could sully the company’s reputation. All is not lost, as there exist cloud solutions, which are capable of keeping tabs on distributors at various levels. This, unfortunately, cannot be performed by systems that reside physically within an organization. The solutions offered by the cloud-based service providers can also provide a holistic view to the entire supply chain range
Vendors stand to lose their reputation in addition to incurring losses if they are found guilty of having transacted with companies that have infamous histories. That is the reason that they have been provided with watch-lists, which are published by the United States and other developed nations’ governments. The problem with these lists is that they keep getting revised very frequently. Some organizations of good standing may, sometimes, be confused with others on these lists.
Cloud service providers, on the other hand, have restricted list solutions to redress this problem and are capable of integrating with all the well-known ERP systems. Companies have managed to save thousands of dollars in transportation by transitioning to a logistics solution on the cloud from the manual Excel spreadsheets.
It is passé to use only one mode of transporting like shipping as intermodal transport can help enterprises deal with delivery efficiently.
This has, in turn, made companies depend on logistics partners of their clouds to see that their goods are being transported safely. Containers in ships have now sensors inserted within them that keep track of the temperatures for perishable products. These sensors alert the companies when the temperatures surpass acceptable limits. Besides, these devices detect trespassing and meddling of any kind.
