Great talking with Patric Palm, CEO and co-founder of Favro regarding the evolution of enterprise collaboration that is being driven by a new generation of collaboration tools in the market.

From Patric's perspective, the evolution began as large enterprises began moving to the cloud, and adopting cloud-based services to save money and adopt modern applications that improve efficiency and speed to market.

Now companies are waking up to the need to be secure and have data locality, as well as IT governance. Microsoft led the way with its 365 product while Slack has been moving aggressively against easy-to-use, cloud-based apps like Trello and Basecamp that are not particularly secure.

With Slack's shared channels, they are enabling organizations to share across geographically dispersed workforces, as well as clients, channel partners, service providers, and suppliers.

Big firms must change with the times. Clients want real-time interaction and transparency with providers as well as third-party partners. Patric sees this trend growing across the organization and deeper into the organization as the accounting department collaborates with their accounting firm and operations and manufacturing collaborates with suppliers and logistics.
