The first tutorial of this series went over how to install and prepare Ubuntu Server 10.10 to be a VMWare Server host. In this next segment, we will go over how to install the GUI. If we didn’t, we would be stuck with command-line only console (though most Linux gurus would say that a Linux server does not need a GUI, or shouldn’t have it at all). Because our purpose is to eliminate as many computers on our desk as possible, we need the GUI to control any virtual computers that will run from our VMWare server.
