Creating Unit Tests in Java using JUnit5

This video demonstrates unit testing using Spring Tool Suite (version 4), however, the steps shown can also be applied to Eclipse with Java Development Tools.

In order to get the maximum benefits from this tutorial, try these steps for unit testing and the examples covered in this session in your computer. Other than basic familiarity with the Java language and an IDE, no previous background knowledge is required.

Basics of JUnit5 for unit testing Java code in this session would be also useful in creating unit tests for automated regression testing for business logic residing within the Spring/Spring Boot or Android Framework. For instructions for NetBeans IDE and the code snippet from this session, please go to this article: Introduction to Unit Testing in NetBeans IDE. Developers working in Ruby or JavaScript might also find this article useful for understanding the philosophy behind the unit testing.
