Typesafe is conducting another survey - part II of a survey, that is - regarding the adoption and users of Java 8. It's a quick survey, just two questions, and we should be hearing results within a few weeks. According to the survey description:

Their last Java 8 survey had some pretty interesting results. For example, as of March 2014:
- 65% of Java devs planned to upgrade to Java 8 within 24 months
- 83% were excited about lambdas
- 59% think Oracle has done a good job when it comes to Java security
