JNBridge, the leading provider of interoperability tools to connect Java and .NET frameworks, today unveiled the latest version of JNBridgePro. JNBridgePro 8.0 addresses cross-platform interoperability in the context of software frameworks, where developers extend framework-supplied scaffolding code through the overriding of behaviors. JNBridgePro 8.0 achieves this through cross-platform overrides and cross-platform inheritance from abstract classes. Modernized icons and controls round out the new release to deliver the answer to interoperability headaches.

JNBridgePro 8.0 is the next step forward in the company’s easy-to-use and cost-effective Java-.NET interoperability tools. New in this version is the capability for cross-platform overrides. Historically, extending and filling in a Java-based framework with .NET code (or vice versa) has proved difficult, requiring a complicated and time-consuming workaround involving changing underlying code or adding new components to the framework. Without the workaround, a Java-side InstantiationException (or a .NET-side MemberAccessException) would be thrown. With JNBridgePro 8.0, .NET classes can now inherit from proxies of Java abstract classes, and vice versa. JNBridgePro 8.0 also includes modified icons and controls in the GUI-based proxy generation tool and plugins, imparting a flatter and more modern look.

“We approached this latest version with the same simple philosophy we had when we started the company: to stay in lockstep with developers and deliver solutions that make Java-.NET interoperability a nonissue,” said Wayne Citrin, CTO, JNBridge. “JNBridgePro 8.0 again proves that interoperability can be achieved — easily, cost-effectively and with zero frustration on the part of developers.”
