The Agile Zone is brought to you in partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Discover how HP Agile enterprise solutions can help you achieve high predictability and quality in your development processes by knowing the status of your projects at any point in time.
JIRA Studio includes the following tools:
- JIRA - Issue Tracking
- Subversion - Source Control
- Bamboo - Continuous Integration
- FishEye - Code Browsing and Metrics
- Crucible - Code Reviews
- GreenHopper - Agile Planning/Project Management
- Confluence - Wiki and Collaboration
Since the software is hosted, updates are taken care of by Atlassian. JIRA Studio also includes support for best practices like TDD and agile/lean methods such as Scrum, XP, and Kanban. By integrating with Google Apps, JIRA Studio users gain a network of collaboration tools that they've probably already used in their business or personal activities. Here are some of the ways in which JIRA leverages Google Apps:
One Login: Your Google username and password will get you logged in to JIRA Studio as well. If you're already logged in, JIRA Studio appears as a menu item at the top of all your Google Applications.
Google Docs Issue Tracking: Take any Google Doc (spreadsheets, documents, presentations) and attach them to JIRA issues in Studio. You can click back and forth between Google Docs and JIRA Issue tracker to edit entries while remaining logged-in.
Google Docs Wiki Embedding: The macro browser in Confluence has a few new Google page components that enable users to embed single documents or document lists inside a wiki page.
JIRA Studio Activity Bar: Within JIRA Studio applications, there is now an activity bar that displays updates from whatever tools they use most in Google Apps or JIRA Studio. Unread emails, Google Calendar dates, recent JIRA issues, build notifications, and code reviews can all be included in the activity bar. You can also have a Google Talk chat button for IMing team members.
Gadgets: JIRA Studio supports the OpenSocial standard for gadgets. This means that Studio users can build their own gadgets or use the existing gadgets to add functionality to Google or Studio applications and customize project visibility.
Monthly and annual subscriptions along with user-based pricing for JIRA Studio are available. Prices start at $25/user/month and lower. A Free 30-day trial is also available.
