'Tis the season for launching enterprise software updates. In the past week Salesforce have been active, unveiling new mobile file sharing features for Chatter. Now Jive are joining the party as they unveil a new feature called StreamOnce.
It claims to enable Jive users to place all business applications into one Jive powered hub. So that's all of your email, your CRM, your file storage, and of course your internal social networking into one place.
The obvious benefit is that you therefore no longer need to juggle multiple systems, thus saving both employees and IT departments the hassle and cost of learning new systems.
The StreamOnce service is initially being rolled out with a select few partners, albeit rather large ones. The initial release will see the likes of Gmail, Microsoft Exchange and DropBox integrated into Jive.
They're hoping to provide support for Oracle, NetSuite, Salesforce, SAP and SugarCRM in the coming months as well.
In April, Jive's spring release centered around virtual work spaces called PurposefulPlaces, which feature integration with Salesforce and Box. The idea behind that product is to close sales deals faster and launch marketing campaigns.
