Kanban: A 2nd Generation Agile Method
The Agile Zone is brought to you in partnership with JetBrains. Learn how Agile Boards in YouTrack are designed to help teams plan, visualize and manage their work in an efficient manner, with support for both Scrum and Kanban processes.
A new post went up last week by the creator of Kanban for software, David J. Anderson. It's a reminder post telling us what should be our rational realization already - it doesn't matter if something has the "Agile" label or not, what matters is whether it works for you or not.
Kanban isn't a competitor to "Agile" methodologies. It's just a smaller technique, usually, that is one of many paths to workflow and organizational agility. Anderson says Kanban can also be thought of as what Alan Shalloway calls a "2nd Generation Agile Method." A response to the resistance against large scale agile adoptions.
Didn't find a response from Anderson about this blog post though: "Kanban - The Secret Engineer Killer"
