every year lightbend does a charity survey (where each completed survey grows the donation that we give to a charity) on various tech topics. in 2015, we looked at the attitudes and appetites around reactive distributed computing. last year, we explored the intersection of containers and cloud with microservices and fast data.
this year, we're zeroing in on the trends behind fast data (vs. big data) as well as use cases for streaming and iot apps that leverage real-time analysis to do things in, well, real-time. we're supporting the kogics foundation, a public charitable trust in india run by lalit pant that provides free education to underprivileged children (including programming in scala via kojo), financial and in-kind help to the poor, and even medical assistance to those in need.
it's 20 questions, fully anonymous, takes between 3-6 minutes, and works great on mobile devices.
