Well, you can go ahead and throw your phones away. Mobile is dead.

That's what Matias Duarte, Director of Android UX design at Google, said at the 2014 Accel Design Conference in San Francisco: mobile is dead. His meaning, though, is a bit more nuanced than that. Not that mobile devices are no longer valuable or relevant, but that the concept of mobile as a discrete category may no longer be valuable or relevant.
