Starting this year, a new exciting Software Development Conference (MEDIT Symposium),  is planned in the heart of the Mediterranean, October 3-4, 2013. The event features two full conference days providing  thirty sessions on hot topics such as, Cloud Computing, Open Source and Mobile DevelopmentThe  conference opening keynote will be presented by Jim Jagielsky, a noted leader, visionary and developer in the Open Source community. Just to mention a couple of highlights,  Loiane Groner will give presentations about Sencha Touch  and PhoneGap  in the Mobile Development track. Jeremy Hanna will talk about Apache Cassandra  in cloud deployments and David White will present The University of Glasgow Raspberry PI Cloud project. Of interest, Lorenzo Bettini author of the book "Implementing Domain-Specific Languages with Xtext and Xtend" , will give an presentation about DSL development with XText and Frank Karlitschek will discuss the challenge of storing data on the cloud and present the ownCloud  project. The conference includes presentations on small source project such as, MixareJOOQMinute Project, application frameworks (OpenXava,  Apache Isis, etc.)  and  comparison of  IaaS and PaaS open platforms. The venue is is in the Castle of Milazzo, Sicily, which is not an ordinary venue, and has been selected for location, culture and food. 


The ticket registration includes: 2 day pass to the conference, shuttle transportation from/to Catania International airport and lunch buffet on both conference days.  To avoid a crowded and chaotic conference and providing to the  attendees an enjoyable experience, registrations are limited to 200.
