Monthly Writers' Recap: November 2018

We're giving thanks to our amazing contributors this month, and saying hello to our newest Zone Leader.

The holiday season is now officially here. The days are shorter now, and Christmas music is on repeat in all the stores in our neck of the woods. Meanwhile, the Devada/DZone crew is planning our annual holiday party and looking back at 2018. A film reviewer might call this year "action-packed." Maybe even "riveting." We moved offices, changed company names, brought on a new CEO, and added lots of new folks on virtually every team. Our contributors have also been busy lately, as you can see:

Welcome to Our Newest Zone Leader, Łukasz Mądrzak

It's been awhile since we welcomed a new Zone Leader to the team! Łukasz Mądrzak joined the Zone Leaders this month. He'll be helping out with our Open Source, IoT, and Web Dev Zones, for the most part. Łukasz is a senior software engineer and app developer living in Ireland. In addition to his chops in debugging production issues and Android development, he's also a talented writer, and he's been keeping us entertained with quips and thoughtful questions in the Zone Leaders Slack channel. We're glad to have you onboard, Łukasz!

November's Publications

November saw the release of the 2018 Guide to Dynamic Web and Mobile Application Development. We combined our web and mobile application development guides this year — this is a good resource for learning the latest in hybrid and web-based approaches.

Our publications team also released or updated five Refcardz this month:

Editors' Pick: Anghel Leonard

MVB Anghel Leonard wrote an excellent article for the Agile Zone this month, called "The Keys to Making Important Technical Decisions." It garnered 33 "likes" as of writing time, and has inspired some really positive responses in the comments section. Thanks for your expertise and willingness to get involved, Anghel — that's how we want every DZone article to be received, and that's exactly how we hope our MVBs write!

That's all for now. Wishing you and yours a happy, safe, and warm holiday season — here's to 2019.
