September's Publications
On September 25th, we released the DZone Guide to Proactive Security: Apps, Environments, and Messaging, which was particularly relevant in this time of high-profile ransomware and DDoS attacks. In addition, we published the following Refcardz:
The DZone Bounty Board
On September 18th, we launched the DZone Bounty Board. We created this site to inspire our contributors with thought-provoking writing prompts and rewarded them for their content. With over 100 article ideas listed, the Bounty Board has a topic for every writer. So far, we've published thirty-five fantastic articles inspired by bounty board claims and look forward to sharing many more. Oh, and that means we've given prizes to dozens of authors!
Learn how to get rewarded for your writing at the Bounty Board.
Editors' Picks: Esteban Herrera, Justin Albano, Dawn Parzych, and Sunil Kappal
New contributor Esteban Herrera stirred up some controversy with his post, What Will Kill Java? The post, which was inspired by a prompt on our Bounty Board, attracted over 100 comments! In return for his excellent article, we've sent him a DZone t-shirt. Esteban has also joined our MVB ranks, and plans to make DZone a home for his Java-related writings.
We'd like to give a shoutout to Justin Albano, who published not one but THREE multipart tutorials this month. He also claimed three writing prompts from the Bounty Board! Check out his current tutorial series on building a web app using Angular.
Thank you to Dawn Parzych, who claimed the "Artificial Intelligence vs. Machine Learning vs. Deep Learning" writing prompt on the Bounty Board, and gave us this fantastic article that eloquently explains the overlaps and intersections of all three terms, breaking down the buzzword hype in the process.
We're big fans of comics, so we're very glad to welcome Sunil Kappal as an MVB. His first comic, "Analytics Ninja and the Curse of Multicollinearity," was published last Saturday, and we already can't wait to publish more of the adventures of Analytics Ninja!
