Box is one of the leading content and collaboration providers for enterprise, giving users the ability to store and share files from both personal computers and mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. With over 200,000 business clients and enterprise grade security and architecture, Box is a great example of how rising Silicon Valley stars use MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform for internal and external integration needs.

As Box is onboarding an ever increasing number of Global Fortune 500 companies, the need for MS SharePoint integration is growing rapidly. These large companies have traditionally made large investments in SharePoint, but are now looking to Box to meet the needs of a more mobile, collaborative workforce. For most organizations with both SharePoint and Box, integration is difficult or non-existent.

In order to meet this demand, Box has launched their Cloud Connect solution to integrate SharePoint to Box, powered by MuleSoft. This solution provides scalable and enterprise proof integration to help customers bring their SharePoint content to Box to utilize Box’s large mobile offerings. Sales teams and field services teams can access centrally managed documents (in MS SharePoint) on their mobile devices and applications through the cloud based Box content management suite and mobile app.

MuleSoft powers this integration and enables SharePoint administrators to easily map SharePoint folders to Box folders, determine the sync interval (real-time to any time-span), and enable their global and mobile workforce with centrally managed documents. With Cloud Connect, Box customers get flexibility combined with critical content management, security and compliance capabilities.

MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform serves as the backbone of this integration, providing the connection layer between SharePoint and Box. As a real time integration platform as a service (iPaaS), MuleSoft makes SharePoint content accessible through the Box application securely on any device, anywhere. The Anypoint Platform provides a flexible, scalable and secure platform to run repeatable, real-time integrations. With MuleSoft, Box is able to remain the system of engagement for employees and facilitate external collaboration, while SharePoint can remain the system of record.
