Microservices! They are everywhere, or at least, the term is. When should you use a microservice architecture? What factors should be considered when making that decision? Do the benefits outweigh the costs? Why is everyone so excited about them, anyway?  Brought to you in partnership with IBM.

I'd like to invite those in the area to my NetBeans Platform, Maven, JWS, and JPA2 session at Barcamp Charleston, SC, on November 13, which is tomorrow!

I'll introduce the NetBeans Platform, used at Boeing, Oracle, and defense companies alike, and how I ported my application to it. I'll also illustrate how I blend it with the Java Persistence API (no-SQL), Apache Derby Embedded Database (transparent persistence) Java Web Start (auto-update), and Maven (platform-independent build).

The goal is to save years of development time building infrastructure code (plumbing--) and instead focus on the Unique Selling Points of your application (domain++).

All the details on the above application are here!

Discover how the Watson team is further developing SDKs in Java, Node.js, Python, iOS, and Android to access these services and make programming easy. Brought to you in partnership with IBM.
