New CloudTest feature: Sharing (Performance Test Results) is Caring

Performance test results are hugely essential. Often these results are pertinent to several individuals and teams. CloudTest now includes a handy "share" feature.

Just like our parents and teachers taught us all to share with others, at work we often need to share test results with members of our team and other stakeholders. Now, with the recent SOASTA 55.14 release, you have a new way to share results with others — even live while a test is executing.

(Note that SOASTA CloudTest and TouchTest still give the ability to export individual widget data in multiple formats, including Excel/CSV, images, as well as to export complete test result reports as HTML or Word (.doc).)

How to Use the “Share” Feature

In every results dashboard, there is now a sharing icon, highlighted with a green circle:

Click the ‘Share Dashboard’ icon and you are presented with this dialog:

The Share Dashboard dialog gives you two sharing options:

  • Private Link — The URL link that is presented will require logging in with valid credentials for this CloudTest server.
  • Public Link — The URL link will open the results dashboard without login; anyone with the link can view the results.

With either choice, just click the URL beneath and choose ‘Copy’.

Keep Sensitive Information Private

You may want to share this dashboard with anyone in your group, whether or not they have an account this CloudTest server. However, if there is sensitive information in the results — for example, revenue received from customers — you may choose to require login for the shared dashboard with the ‘Private Link’ choice; then only those with valid credentials will be able to view.

This new Share Dashboard feature gives you one more way to share test results — live during a test or anytime after — with your teammates and colleagues.
