Databases are better when they can run themselves. CockroachDB is a SQL database that automates scaling and recovery. Check it out here.

Oracle has open sourced the embeddable XQilla XQuery engine code, its implementation of the W3C XQuery 1.0 standard, which lets developers query XML data like SQL for relational data.

The widgetry, now at SourceForge under the Apache 2.0 license, is used in building XML-based applications.

Oracle believes the contribution will advance the use of XQuery and XML in SOA and enterprise content management.

Oracle has integrated the XQilla XQuery engine in Berkeley DB XML, the embeddable open source XML database.

Databases should be easy to deploy, easy to use, and easy to scale. If you agree, you should check out CockroachDB, a scalable SQL database built for businesses of every size. Check it out here.
